The second generation of <a href="MKT:8409" old-href="https://www.classic.com/m/mitsubishi/pajero/">Mitsubishi Pajero</a>, also known as the Montero or Shogun, was introduced for the 1992 model year. The second generation Pajero was offered as a series of mid-size three or five door SUVs offered with a choice of inline four or V6 engines. Due to its all-terrain capabilities, Mitsubishi actively participated in a wide range of offroad motorsports, including the Paris-Dakar Rally. The most notable Pajero variant, the <a href="MKT:8412" old-href="https://www.classic.com/m/mitsubishi/pajero/2nd-gen-v20/evolution/">Pajero Evolution</a>, was created to meet homologation requirements for the Dakar.
