This Corvette was equipped from the factory with a special factory modified and uprated 330 horsepower 5.7 liter LT4 V8 engine backed by a six-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, three-setting adjustable ride control, power seats, windows, and locks along with a removable roof panel. Grand Sport Coupes also featured more aggressive rear fender flares, white racing stripes, and red front fender hash marks.

Only available for 1996, the Grand Sport coupe featured a removable roof panel and was powered by Chevrolet's LT4 engine, which was a naturally aspirated 5.7L V8 that had an output of 330hp. Drive from this engine was sent to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. A total of 810 examples of the C4 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupes were built. The Grand Sport package added $3,575 to the original Base MSRP of the Corvette Coupe.
