1999 Ferrari F360 Modena by Target Design
Original 6-speed manual example
Motorsport-function Target Design aero
Aragosta coilovers & Imola BBK
Fully sorted
Japan-sourced Ferraris always present unique and special styling and this example is one to remember. RMC Miami is happy to offer an excellent example of a well modified 1999 Ferrari F360 Modena.
In the states typically ferrari’s are owned by a mix of enthusiasts and/or surface level custodians looking for a cheap for their buck or with little know-how on how to properly drive and maintain cars. It’s clear the motive with this car was to build an individual piece with a stylish and motorsport minded approach. In japan ferraris owners vary as well but one thing always stands out, they feel better. The Jameriquah sticker paints a picture of who the previous owner was and his mentality. Its styling is JDM OEM+. Aesthetically the fabulous wheels are a more aggressive fitment, large-lipped challenge design.
One generation newer than our beloved Toda F355, the F360 Modena presents a standout transition into 2000’s styling by Pininfarina: smooth, elegant body transitions tied into a tight motorsport chassis. Like its predecessor, the 360’s 3.6L V8 lives at high rpm… minus a majority of the maintenance responsibility while retaining all of the performance and acoustics that come with a vintage aspirated Ferrari. In addition, this is a factory gated manual example.
The exterior is finished in Argento – a simple color. Japan styles cars to look best at night though. Ferrari lines reflect mainly in simple metallic colors. It’s completed with a full aero kit courtesy of Target Design – a branch of a deep rooted Japanese tuner named System-M.
Functionality first.
Body
This kit was adopted by N1 Ferrari Super Taikyu programs and utilized a large front splitter, side skirts and functional rear diffuser that blends into the underside of the car. The kit blends into the Argento silver paint flawlessly and is matched extremely well – complimented by a large carbon fiber Challenge rear wing to keep the chassis planted and carbon challenge-style mirrors. ?? Polished lip brushed silver faced wheels add an aggressive stance to the car and adding a standout shine that compliments the silver body.
Technical
Behind the wheels sits a motorsport inspired brake and suspension setup. Large 6 piston Imola front calipers and Aragosta coilovers allow improved deccel traction and fine tuning of the supension. On top of the coilovers sits a functional aircup system controlled by a compressor/valve control switch by the bonnet latch.
Under the rear hatch, the 3.6L V8 is paired with a genuine Kreissieg valved exhaust that improves flow and lets out a truly motorsport F1 inspired symphony. This setup pulls hard with no misfires or warning lights. Cruising on the highway at high speeds is done with ease and power comes in hard. The factory gated manual adds to the racing feel and connection and shifting is smooth.
Cockpit
The interior matches in inspiration. Two extremely rare OEM carbon fiber adjustable racing bucket seats, a Momo steering wheel and red 4pt Sparco harnesses complete the feel of this 360. The silver aluminum transmission tunnel and silver door accents compliment the exterior aesthetic. The interior is in excellent condition overall as well – no tears or stains in the seats, carpet or dash. The 360’s extremely simple color pallet lets you focus on the mechanical and aerodynamic aspects of the build.
Review
The overall package represents what we believe is the epitome of a drivers car: good mannerisms on the street with motorsport inspired attributes that allow the car to be pushed on the circuit too. Versatility. The entire setup blends flawlessly creating perfect mechanical balance. Easy on the street, effective on the track.
