Arctic Silver over Space Gray Leather, Gray Carpeting, 3.4L Flat-Six Cylinder Engine, 5-Speed Tiptronic Gearbox, Two Owners, West Coast Ownership, Only 37,190 Miles.
The 996 marked a pivotal evolution in the Porsche 911 lineage — the first generation powered by a water-cooled flat-six engine, and the first major design departure from the air-cooled era. Lighter, faster, and more refined, it introduced modern engineering while retaining the raw, analog feel that defines the 911 experience.
Early-production cars like this are particularly special. Built in May 1998, this example was hand-assembled alongside the outgoing 993 line at Zuffenhausen, representing the earliest and most limited run of the 996 series. Only 3,649 of these early Coupes were produced worldwide, making them an increasingly collectible chapter in the model’s history. Numerous differences separate them from the later 996 cars.
Purchased in April, 1999 from Vasek Police Porsche in Hermosa Beach with just 18,000 miles, this 996 has covered just 37,000 miles from new and has been in the care of its second owner for the majority of its life. It is in outstanding cosmetic condition throughout and has been regularly serviced regardless of use. It has remained garaged and properly kept under West Coast ownership. Most recently, it has received a battery with no other issues or needs.
Options include: power seats, draped leather, colored crest caps, oval exhaust tips, stainless door sills, aluminum face dials, aluminium gear shift selector and hand brake. It has been further upgraded with period-correct 18x8.5 and 18x10 RH German made 3 piece wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's in 225/40/18 and 285/30/18 with just 500 miles on them.
The sale of this 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe is accompanied by its manuals, 3 keys, and partial history file. A recent road test attests to this 911’s exceptional condition throughout with wonderful performance and well-preserved early Porsche nostalgia.
