This 2003 model year XJR was built in July of 2002 and sold new by Monte Shelton Jaguar of Portland, Oregon in February of 2003. The original MSRP was $73,975. The original owner kept the car until July of 2024 when we acquired the car with just 44,000 miles and sold it to a collector whom is a repeat customer of ours. This XJR is equipped with the rare “R1 Performance Package” that consists of the beautiful silver BBS Milan modular wheels with polished stainless lips, larger Brembo brakes that have cross drilled rotors and 4-pot calipers finished in dark silver, and a lighter alloy spare space saver spare wheel. The car also has the optional Alpine 320watt cassette stereo system with integrated Navigation, trunk mounted 6-disk CD changer, as well as heated front and rear seats. The 2003 model year V8 engine has the improved-type chain tensioners which was an issue on earlier cars built prior to July of 2001.
The car is finished in striking Platinum Silver paint over Charcoal leather with polished Burl Walnut veneers. Other features include; rain sensing wipers, remote locking with alarm, automatic headlamps, rear park distance control, traction control w/ ABS, computer active suspension aka(CATS system), auto-dimming rearview mirror, homelink garage opener, power front sport seats w/ lumbar, cruise control, power adjusting steering column, power tilt/sliding metal sunroof, soft close trunk lid, trip computer, mesh front grill, and polished stainless dual exhaust tips.
Today the car has just 44,885 miles and still shows nicely both inside and out. The paintwork is all original with the exception of the L/R quarter panel which was professionally refinished due to scratch caused by a tool falling onto it in the garage from the original owner's stewardship, he turned the repair into his insurance which is reflected as "damage reported" on the Carfax entry from 2018. All body panels are original and have their VIN ID tags present and are strait with no dents or any large scratches visible. The only flaws of note are some minor stone chips to the front end which can be expected by the age/ mileage, we have ordered touch-up paint to fill them in. The wheels are free of curb damage and the car retains all of its original glass. The interior is extremely nice with soft leather free of excess wear and tear, the wood trim shows like new with no fading or cracking.
In July of 2024 the car received 4-new Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires, a suspension alignment, oil service, new wiper blade, new battery, and the headliner was recovered. The car retains its original complete owner’s manual set, 2 master keys, 2 remotes, 1 valet key, NAV DVD, BBS valve stem tool in original leather pouch, original sales brochure, radio code card, Service manual on CD-Rom, optional full tool kit, original selling dealer’s business cards and license frames, and even the original window sticker!
