2003 Porsche 911 (996.2) Carrera Coupe
Highlights:
-IMS BEARING UPDATED WITH DOCUMENTATION
-6-Speed manual
-California Car from new with just 80,000 miles
Finished in rarely seen Dark Teal Metallic, a beguiling blend of dark green and ocean blue- the appearance of which can change substantially in differing light- this 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera is an unusually optioned example of Porsche’s first water-cooled flagship model. Inside, cool Graphite Grey full supple leather upholstery presents in exemplary condition, accentuating new-millennium styling employed by long-time Porsche designer Grant Larson. A host of performance and technology features are standard, plus added options including power seats, 18” Carrera wheels, Porsche Stability Management, and a Bose high-end sound package. A California car from new, just 80k miles have been covered throughout its 20+ year history in the western dry climate State. Importantly, the IMS bearing replacement was performed at 50,000 miles in October of 2019, and is accompanied by supporting documentation.
Beneath the rear decklid, this car’s 3.6-liter flat-six was originally rated at 320 horsepower, paired here with 6-speed manual shifting. A speed-activated rear spoiler lends novel panache, alongside an electric sliding sunroof with tilt function. Vented and cross-drilled disc brakes offer impressive stopping power in stride with essential convenience features including power windows, heated side mirrors, a heated windshield, and front headlamps with integrated fog lights.

Ownership and Service History:
Sold new to sunny San Diego, with less than 5K miles logged and when it was just a few months old, damage was reported to the selling dealer, which would appear to have necessitated the repaint of the front storage area cover, as the paint meter readings on all other panels indicate original paint. By 2005, now with 9,800 miles logged, this Carrera was in the Bay Area, and a pre-delivery service at Sonnen Porsche included:
Drivability/performance checked, clutch checked, four wheel alignment performed, oil and filter changed, rear crankshaft oil seal replaced, safety inspection performed, window(s) checked, window regulator(s) replaced.
The car remained in California with regular services indicated on the Carfax up through 2019, when as part of an ownership change, Dublin Honda performed the following at 50,519 miles:
IMS BEARING UPDATE, with RND Engine's roller bearing kid (#00964), install new flywheel (clutch was new), replace front and rear brake discs and pads, oil and filter service.
