THIS… is a Guards Red 2005 Porsche Boxster S with a black soft top and a black interior.
- This Boxster S is equipped with the desirable 6-speed manual transmission and 19" Carrera S "Lobster Claw" wheels with 1 year old Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires which have a total of 3248 miles accumulated. This car is a blast to drive!
- The attached Carfax vehicle history report includes the lifetime records for this car mostly from prior to my ownership. I have included the Carfax "Car Care report" which includes some notation I entered for services during the past two years while I owned the car, including detailing/ceramic coating, new tires, and the 40K mileage service / oil change. Receipts for those services are included in the photos. I did not receive any service records when I purchased the car but the full compliment of glove box literature was included.
- The car data build sheet was provided to me by the Detroit North Porsche dealership when I visited them to inquire about the vehicle pedigree prior to my purchase in April 2024. Notable factory equipment includes 19-inch wheels, heated seats with embossed Porsche Crest, a power-operated soft top, bi-xenon headlights, leather upholstery, and a Bose sound system. See the photos for the full vehicle specifications.
- Notable modifications I have made include: a Porsche Cayman rear spoiler (the OEM spoiler will be included and can easily be reverted if desired), clear LED front side markers sourced from Rennline (OEM lamps will be included/can be reverted), a Rennline Exactfit Magnetic Phone Mount, a Texas Custom Interior leather steering wheel wrap (the OEM steering wheel was in good condition - see the "before" photos - I merely wanted a thicker rim), and I also replaced the temp & fan speed rocker climate controls because the original were already "sticky" when I acquired the car.
- I installed a rear view camera powered by a USB cable that runs to a dongle in the center console. That dongle also serves as a means to stream audio via SiriusXM or Apple Music, etc. to the stereo. The camera streams via local Wi-Fi to a phone and while not the most elegant or convenient solution, it worked well enough for when have needed it and it can easily be removed.
- I had the Boxster S script removed from the decklid when the car was detailed but those parts remain intact and will be included. Also included are the OEM carpet floor mats along with a set of Coco Mats, and a full vehicle cover procured from Carcovers dot com.
- Power comes from a 3.2-liter flat-6, rated at 280 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. If you're looking at this listing you likely know about the IMS Bearing issue that potentially impacts early 2005 Boxster vehicles. I have no knowledge of whether this car has the early or later engine design. I have not had any issues whatsoever with this vehicle which is a joy to drive. The certification label on the driver door shows a manufacture date of 03/05 and the car was built by Valmet Automotive in Finland.
- Known flaws include typical exterior chips and scratches - some of which were filled with paint prior to my ownership. The car had PPF on the front fascia, fenders, and hood to about halfway back and that film had somewhat yellowed and was peeling a bit so my detailer removed all that prior to paint correction and ceramic coating. There is a very slight dimple on the driver's side fender that's not highly noticeable unless you know it's there. See the short video clip included in this listing. There is a missing piece on the rear face of one of the deployable CD holders above the glovebox.
- Two keys are included and both start and operate the car, but the locking and front and rear trunk buttons are inoperable on 1 of the keys. The switch on the rocker adjacent to the driver's seat is a little loose when operating but it functions to release the hood. There is a small hole in the floor carpet visible alongside / under the passenger seat.
- Please see the detailed photos and videos included in this listing, and ask any questions which I'll gladly answer.
- UPDATE: it appears that the CARFAX pdf file I loaded here possibly doesn't display, so I included jpeg images of the 5 page report that I purchased on 05/24/26.
- POINT OF REFERENCE: Per the CARFAX report this vehicle had an oil change & filter service at 33,302 miles completed by the Porsche Detroit North store in Shelby Township, MI on 04/08/24 shortly before I purchased the car. I had the same service at 39,445 miles completed at my local independent shop on 10/24/25. I checked the oil level frequently during the time I have owned the vehicle and never had to add oil. The oil consumption was zero.
