What is the typical maintenance cost for replacing the 2008 Honda S2000 CR’s soft top, and are there any recommended replacement intervals?

Great question! Here’s the thing about the 2008 Honda S2000 CR - it actually doesn’t have a soft top to replace. The CR (Club Racer) model was a special track-focused version where Honda deleted the soft top entirely to save weight. Instead, it came standard with a lightweight, removable aluminum hard top.

For regular S2000 models (non-CR) that do have soft tops, replacement typically costs $800-1,200 for the top itself plus 6-8 hours of labor at around $1,100. Most owners replace them when they show wear or after 8-10 years/80,000 miles.

Since your CR only has the hard top, you don’t need to worry about soft top maintenance. The hard top on these cars is quite durable and just needs basic care. Is there anything else about the CR’s unique features you’d like to know about?
