Now is your chance to own a piece of NASCAR history! This is not a show car, this is not a Jimmie Johnson replica car, this is Hendrick Motorsports Chassis #48-590, a Hendrick Certified Race Car. Restored IN HOUSE by Hendrick, this car laid the foundation on which Jimmie Johnson won his record setting 5th straight championship!
The car sports the legendary "Power of Pride" livery, the paint scheme used during its last race. Since its last race in 2011, the car has been meticulously restored by the experts at Hendrick. Unlike most "look-a-likes" and "show cars" this is not an empty roller or crate motor. HMS 48-590 sports a real, Hendrick built R07 NASCAR motor, as it did when it raced. This thundering 750+ hp monster redlines at over 9,000 RPMs. The exhaust is dumped into header collectors and exits through "y side exit" exhaust.
The R07 powerplant delivers its power to the wheels through a period correct, 4-speed, H-pattern transmission. The power is put to the ground using race spec Goodyear 'Billboard' tires.
After its restoration, #48-590 was displayed in the Hendrick Motorsports Museum! (See Pictures)
