2017 Force India Mercedes VJM10 Formula 1

The 2017 Force India VJM10 was pink because of a new sponsorship deal with BWT (Best Water Technology), an Austrian water technology company. Pink is BWT’s corporate brand color, so the team changed its entire livery to match their new sponsor’s identity.

This was BWT’s first entry into Formula 1, and their deal made the Force India cars instantly recognizable on the grid. The partnership actually continued beyond Force India — when the team became Racing Point in 2019 and later Aston Martin, the pink livery remained a signature look.

It turned out to be a great move for both parties. The distinctive pink stood out in a field of mostly silver, red, and blue cars, and helped Force India finish an impressive 4th in the 2017 Constructors’ Championship — ahead of Williams, Renault, and Toro Rosso. Not bad for a midfield team in bright pink!
