can you remove the fairing on the low rider st?

The fairing on the 2023 Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST is not designed to be easily removed. Unlike the saddlebags (which are quick-detachable), the FXRT-style fairing is frame-mounted with support brackets and consists of an inner and outer fairing assembly.

Here’s why it’s not a quick detach:

  • The headlight is mounted to the outer fairing
  • The inner fairing houses the turn signal wiring
  • It requires tools (screwdriver/screw gun) to remove multiple fasteners
  • The fairing support brackets are visible and structural

If you’re looking for a bike with quick-detach touring capability, the Sport Glide might be a better fit—that model has both quick-detach fairing and bags. You could also look at a Low Rider S (without the ST fairing) and add accessory fairings that are easier to remove.

If you really want to run the Low Rider ST “naked,” you’d need to swap out the whole front end for a standard headlight or a smaller headlight fairing, which involves more than just unclipping a few latches.

Would you like me to help you find a Sport Glide or Low Rider S instead? Or are you trying to figure out what accessories work with the ST fairing set up?
