The BMW New Six range of sedans was introduced in 1968. This series of cars is also known as the E3. A precursor to the 7 Series, the E3 were full size luxury cars, all fitted with a variant of the BMW M30 inline six engine. Notable variants of the E3 include the 2800, 3.0 S, 3.0 Si, and the 3.3 Li. Another notable variant is the Bavaria, which was exclusive to the United States market. Built until 1977, the New Six sedans were replaced by the E23 BMW 7 Series.
