The Mercedes-Benz 170 is a range of cars built by Mercedes-Benz between 1931 and 1955. The first cars to be fitted with the 170 badge were the Type 170 (W15), this series of cars featured a 1.7L inline six engine and was largely available in hard or open top variants. The Type 170 was succeeded by the Mercedes-Benz 170V (W136), which featured 1.7L inline four engines. Production of the 170V was halted during world WW2, but resumed in 1949. The 170 V was then joined by the 170S (W136 & W191). A more upscale model, the 170 S was the last 170 to be built, ending production in 1955. A rear engined model known as the 170H was also created, but it features in the Mercedes-Benz H family.
