Mercedes-Benz Type 170 - W15 (1931 to 1936)

The Mercedes-Benz Typ 170 (Type 170), was first introduced in 1931. Considered in modern times as the equivalent of a mid size family saloon, the Type 170, also known as the W15, was created to allow Mercedes to expand downmarket after the Great Depression. Powered by a 1.7L inine six engine, the Type 170 was available in a variety of body styles over the course of its production, with the most notable being the Type 170 Saloon, Type 170 Cabriolet, and the Type 170 Roadster. The Type 170 was built until 1936.
