The fourth generation of AMC Ambassador debuted for the 1974 model year. The 4th Gen Ambassador was the final generation of Ambassador built, and it was offered in four door sedan, and station wagon (Cross Country) body styles. Three V8 engines were available, with a 304ci equipped as standard, and a 360ci or 401ci unit as options. Drive was sent to the rear wheels through manual or automatic transmission options. Production of the Ambassador ended in 1974, when the model was discontinued.
