AMC, otherwise known as the American Motors Corporation, was an American automotive manufacturer. AMC was founded when Nash and Hudson merged in 1954. AMC offered various cars which it sold under the Rambler brand, but then incorporated these models as AMC offerings, such as the Ambassador and Rebel. Other notable models produced by the company include the AMX, Javelin, and Pacer. The American Motors Corporation purchased the Jeep brand in 1970, helping to improve company's fortunes, but eventually in 1987, Chrysler aqcuired AMC and dissolved the brand.
