Aston Martin DBS - 1st Gen (1968 to 1972)

In 1967, Aston Martin introduced the DBS. The follow up to the DB6, the DBS was originally intended to feature a new Tadek Marek designed V8 engine, yet this engine was not ready when the car was released. Aston Martin fitted the DBS with the proven Lagonda-derived straight six engine until the new V8 engine was ready in late 1969. These V8 engined cars were known as the DBS V8 and were built alongside the standard DBS until production ended in 1972. The DBS V8, with a few styling changes and updates, would continue life as the Aston Martin V8.
