The Austin A40 Sports was the sports car variant of the Austin A40 family. Introduced in 1950, the A40 Sports was offered as a two door convertible that was powered by a 1.2L inline six engine. While similar to the unit used in other A40 variants, the Sports' engine was fitted with twin carburetors that raised total output to 46hp. This engine's power was sent to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. Production of the Austin A40 Sports ended in 1953 with a total of 4,011 examples built.
