Auto Union 1000 (1958 to 1965)

The model 1000 was introduced by Auto Union in 1958. It was a medium-sized car that was characterized by its aerodynamic design and front wheel drive. Powered by a 981cc inline 3, two-stroke engine, these cars were only offered with a 4-speed manual transmission. The 1000 had different variants that included the 1000 S, 1000 SP and 1000 Universal. The Auto Union 1000, produced until 1965, was Auto Union's last major model before the company was acquired by Volkswagen in the 1960s and evolved into what we know today as Audi.
