Announced in 2017, the 3rd Generation Bentley Continental GT received significant technological and styling changes from its predecessor. 3rd Generation vehicles were produced based on the Volkswagen-developed MSB platform which was to be shared with the 2nd Gen Porsche Panamera, feature both a longer wheelbase and a newly developed TSI W12 engine, and received a significant interior re-design, which included an industry-first rotating display. These 3rd Gen Continental GTs were also the first cars to be produced using a Super Formed process, which involves shaping aluminum body panels by gas instead of stamping them. Made available in similar trims as the previous generations, the 3rd Generation cars are also offered as Coupes and Convertibles, both available with W12 or V8 engines and in Mulliner and Speed trims.
