Bentley S1 - Standard (1955 to 1959)

The Bentley S-Series S1 Standard Steel Saloon (1955–1959) was the core model of Bentley’s post-war luxury lineup, combining traditional British craftsmanship with refined engineering. It was powered by a smooth 4.9-liter inline-six engine, delivering near-silent performance and strong torque for effortless cruising. Although not a Continental, the Standard S1 still benefited from the era’s prestigious coachbuilt influence, with some cars featuring bespoke work or finishing touches associated with firms such as Mulliner Park Ward and James Young. Produced between 1955 and 1959, the S1 was succeeded by the S2 Standard Steel Saloon in 1959, marking the transition to a new generation with a V8 engine and further refinement of the range.
