Benz & Companie Rheinische Gasmotoren-Fabrik, more commonly known as Benz & Cie, was a company created by Karl Benz, Max Rose, and Friedrich Wilhelm Eßlinger. Benz & Companie specialized in producing industrial machines, yet they are most known for Karl Benz's passion project, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen. Widely regarded as the first automobile, the Patent-Motorwagen cemented Benz & Companie's place in history. The company would later merge with the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (Not related to the Daimler Company Limited), and become Daimler-Benz which produced cars under the name Mercedes-Benz.
