The Benz Victoria, produced from 1893 to 1900 by Benz & Cie., was the company’s first four-wheeled automobile and an early example of practical motorized transport. It featured a rear-mounted single-cylinder engine with power outputs ranging from 3 to 6 horsepower, depending on the version, and engine displacements between 1.7 and 2.9 liters. Power was transmitted via a belt and chain drive system with 2 or 3 forward gears. The Victoria had a top speed of around 20–30 km/h and featured wooden-spoked wheels, a vis-à-vis seating layout, and elliptic leaf spring suspension. It marked an important step in the evolution from experimental cars to functional everyday vehicles.
