BMW 2002ti (1968 to 1971)

The BMW 2002ti was a performance-focused variant of the BMW 2002 that was introduced in 1968. The 2002ti was largely similar to the base 2002, but it featured a high compression version of the M10 engine that was fitted with dual Solex carburetors. This more powerful engine had an output of 118hp and 123 lb ft of torque that was sent to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. In addition to the more powerful engine, the 2002ti received larger front brakes, fully boxed trailing arms, and uprated wheel bearings. Sales of the BMW 2002ti were limited to the European and Canadian markets before the end of production in 1971. A total of 16,448 examples of the 2002ti were built before it was replaced by the BMW 2002tii.
