The third generation of the BMW 1 Series, known as the F40, was introduced for the 2020 model year. Offered exclusively in a four door hatchback body style, the F40 saw numerous variants, such as the 116i, 118i, 120d, and the top of the line M135i. Both all wheel drive (xDrive) and front wheel drive configurations were available, as well as a selection of inline three and inline four engines.
