The first generation BMW X3, known as the E83, was introduced for the 2004 model year. It featured a five-door body, rear-wheel drive in the early versions, and optional or permanent all-wheel drive in most later models, as well as manual or automatic transmissions depending on the engine. The range included the 2.0i, 2.5i, 3.0i, and the 3.0si gasoline engines, as well as the 2.0d, 3.0d, and 3.0sd diesel options, offering a balance between efficiency and performance. Its driver-focused interior offered comfort, ergonomics, and ample space for passengers and cargo. With an elegant yet functional design, the E83 stood out for its versatility, road stability and suitability for family use without sacrificing the dynamic driving experience typical of the brand. Built until 2010, the E83 was replaced by the F25 for the 2011 model year.
