1964 was the initial model year for the Bristol 408 as it replaced the 407. The two-door coupe was very similar to the 407, with its Chrysler-powered V8 and automatic transmission. However, the body was treated to styling changes, most notably the front fascia. During production, even more changes were made, prompting Bristol to badge the mid to late production cars the 408 Mark II. The luxury coupe was replaced in 1966 by the Bristol 409 after only 83 units were built.
