In 1976 the Bristol Car Company introduced the new 412, along with its brother, the 603, which were meant to replace the Bristol 411. The new 412 featured a radically different style than its siblings. Designed by Zagato, it featured a Targa-style convertible roof. Chrysler 383ci and 360ci engines were fitted in the cars, and two variants were created in later production: the Bristol Beaufighter and Beaufort. The Beaufighter was given a turbocharged engine while still resembling the original 412. However, the Beaufort offered a convertible top. 412 production ended in 1994.
