In 1977 the Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine became somewhat shorter and lighter than previous models due to the Corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards are regulations; in fact it was 7 inches shorter and 900lbs lighter. Engines were bored down to 425ci and 368ci, both paired to automatic transmissions. A facelift was introduced to the market with the 11th gen of the Series 75 in 1985.
