Chevrolet Camaro 1993 Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car - 4th Gen (1993 to 1993)

The Chevrolet Camaro 1993 Z28 Indy 500 Pace Car was a limited edition variant of the Fourth Generation Camaro. These low production cars were created in order for Chevrolet to capitalize on the publicity when it was announced the that the 1993 Camaro Z28 was to be the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. The 1993 Pace Cars featured the standard Z28 options, and the LT1 that had been introduced a year earlier in the C4 Corvette was now also found under the hood of the Z28. There was also a choice of 4 speed automatic or T56 6 speed manual, with both options sending drive to the rear wheels. These Pace Cars were available a hardtop coupe body, or with optional T-tops, and all cars wore black paint with a white lower skirt and Indianpolis 500 decals on the doors. Interiors were a 50/50 white and black which matched the exterior theme. By the end of production, only a total of 645 examples of the 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Indy Pace Car were built.
