Chevrolet Chevy II / Nova - 3rd Gen (1968 to 1972)

The third generation of Chevrolet Chevy II was introduced for the 1968 model year. While still offered as a compact model, the third generation saw the Chevy II grow in size, and lose a number of body styles. Only 2 door post coupes, and 4 Door sedans were available for this generation. In 1969, Chevrolet decided to drop the designation Chevy II it had used, now calling the model the Nova, after what had been the top trim level for the Chevy II previously. The top factory variant was the Nova Super Sport (SS) which featured a 396 c.i. V8 and produced 375hp. Don Yenko, a high perfromance Chevy dealer, who was famous for making his own special runs of Chevrolet high horsepower Yenko Super cars, made a speical 1970 Nova Yenko Deuce with the small block LT-1. Production of the third generation of Chevrolet Chevy II / Nova ended in 1972 with the introduction of the Fourth Generation Chevrolet Nova.
