The Callaway C12 was a largely bespoke vehicle that was built by Callaway Cars using a C5 Corvette as a base. Introduced in 1997, the C12 shared numerous components with the C5 Corvette, but below the glassline, all panels were modified in some way, indicating the large amount of work that went into the C12. Two engine options were available, a tuned 5.7L 'LS1' V8, or a 6.2L 'LT1' SuperNatural V8, with drive being sent to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual transmission. Convertible, Targa, and Hardtop body styles were available. Only 25 examples of the C12 Callaway were built before production ended in 1999.
