Delage D8 (1929 to 1940)

The D8 was introduced by Delage in 1929. It was the brand's top of the range model and one of the most luxurious and sophisticated French automobiles of its time. Equipped initially with a 4.0L inline eight engine that later evolved to 4.3L. It featured a 4-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive and was notable for its long, balanced chassis, ideal for ultra-luxury bodies. The main versions were: D8, D8-15, D8-85, D8-100, D8-105 and D8-120. It was offered in multiple body styles: sedan, coupe, cabriolet and roadsters. The D8 became a symbol of distinction among Europe's elite, and its technical design included upgraded suspension, servo-assisted brakes and a floating rear axle in later versions. Renowned for both its beauty and performance, the D8 positioned Delage on a par with brands such as Hispano-Suiza, Bugatti, and Rolls-Royce. The Delage D8 was produced until 1940.
