The 1st Generation of the Dodge Polara debuted for the 1960 model year. The 1st Gen Polara was a series of full-size cars that represented the top offering from Dodge. These cars were built in sedan, coupe, hardtop, convertible, and station wagon body styles, and were powered by two V8 options. The standard engine was a 361ci V8, with an optional 383ci V8 available, as were manual or automatic transmissions, with power sent to the rear wheels. Production of the 1st Gen Polara ended in 1961, when it was replaced by the 2nd Gen Dodge Polara.
