The Abarth Rally Stradale was a limited production homologation version of the Fiat 131. These cars were created in order to certify the 131 for use in the World Rally Championship, which it did to great aplomb, winning 2 drivers championships and 3 constructors titles during its time. The Abarth Rally Stradale was a collaboration between Fiat, Bertone, and Abarth, with Fiat building the body, Bertone trimming, adjusting, and re-styling the body, and Abarth providing the mechanical heart to that body. Power for the 131 Abarth Rally came from a dual overhead camshaft 2.0L twin-cam inline four engine that generated 138hp. Drive was sent to the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual transmission. Just 400 examples of the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Stradale were built.
