Fiat Abarth 850 Allemano (1959 to 1962)

The Fiat Abarth 850 Allemano was introduced in 1959 as a very limited series of sports cars bodied by Allemano, as part of Abarth's strategy of creating exclusive versions based on small cylinder Fiat engines. It was generally offered as a coupe berlinetta and a few two seater spiders, with a lightweight, handcrafted design geared towards both road use and minor competitions. It used a rear engine, rear wheel drive configuration, with a 847cc inline four engine, paired to a four speed manual transmission. Its historical significance lies in its extremely limited production run and in being one of the earliest examples of Abarth's "small engines, high performance" philosophy, with a coachbuilt body that makes it very rare and highly valued among collectors today.
