Ford Falcon - 3rd Gen (1966 to 1970)

The third generation of the Ford Falcon debuted for the 1960 model year. The 3rd Gen Falcon saw only three body styles offered: coupe, sedan, and station wagon. This was a much lower amount of available body styles when compared to previous generations. For 1966 through 1969, the standard engine was a 170ci inline six, while for 1970, the standard engine was a 200ci inline six. The 200ci inline six was optional for most of 3rd Gen production, as were two optional V8 engines, a 289ci or later, a 302ci. A choice of manual or automatic gearboxes sent drive to the rear wheels. The most notable variant of this generation is the Futura. Production of the 3rd Gen Ford Falcon ended in 1970. After, Ford used the Falcon name for a half-year generation of an Intermediate class vehicle.
