The first generation of Ford Focus RS, known as the Mk I, was introduced in 2003. The first generation RS was only available in Europe, and was only available in the hatchback body style. The Mk I was powered by a 2.0L turbocharged inline four engine producing 212hp, and shared on 30% of its components with the standard Focus. The Mk I RS was only available in Imperial Blue, and was produced until 2004 with a total of 4,501 examples built. The Mk I would eventually be replaced by the Ford Focus RS Mk II.
