Ford Galaxie - 1st Gen (1959 to 1959)

The first generation of Ford Galaxie was introduced for the 1959 model year. The Galaxie was introduced as the top full-size trim, placed above the Fairlane 500, and was offered in a wide range of body styles, including hardtop, sedan, and convertible. Confusingly, these cars featured both 'Fairlane 500' and 'Galaxie' badging, although they were separate from the Fairlane. These high end models were also available with a variety of engine options, ranging from the base 3.7L inline six, to a selection of V8s with a 5.8L unit offering the largest displacement. The first generation Galaxie was only available for the 1959 model year, and was replaced by the Second Generation Ford Galaxie.
