The Holden HK was introduced by Holden in 1968. This rear wheel drive car was the successor to the HR series and marked an important step in the development of Holden models. The HK was available with inline six and V8 engines: 2.6L I6, 3.0L I6, 5.0L V8 and 5.4L V8. Available in different body styles such as sedan, wagon, pickup, van and coupe, the HK could be driven with manual or automatic transmissions. The HK was a huge success for Holden, not only because of its variety of models and options, but because it marked the beginning of the Australian muscle cars era. The Holden HK was produced until 1969.
