Hudson first introduced the Commodore in 1941. The Commodore was a series of full size luxury cars, representing the top of the Hudson model lineup. The first generation Commodore was offered as a sedan, coupe, and convertible, and featured the top of the line Custom trim as an option. A 3.3L inline six or 4.2L inline eight engine were available for the first generation Commodore, which was produced until 1942 when production stopped due to WW2. After the war, Hudson introduced the Second Generation Hudson Commodore.
