The second generation of Hudson Hornet was introduced for the 1955 model year. Hudson and Nash merged to create the American Motors Corporation (AMC), which continued to produce Hudson branded cars. Due to this merger, Hudson models after 1954 were based on Nash cars, and the second generation Hornet was not exception. The second generation Hornet was available as a sedan or coupe, and was fitted with an inline six, or range of V8 engines. Production of the Hudson Hornet ended in 1957.
