The first generation of International Harvester Travelall debuted for the 1953 model year. The Travelall was introduced as a three door wagon that was based on the International Harvester R-Series (S-Series from 1955-1957), and was powered by a 3.6L inline six engine. Initially, the Travelall was only available in rear wheel drive, but from 1956 onward, four wheel drive was offered as an option. The first generation Travelall was produced until 1957, when it was replaced by the Second Generation International Harvester Travelall.
