Iso Grifo - Series I (1965 to 1970)

Introduced in 1965, the Series I was the first generation of the Iso Grifo. Derived from the A3/L prototype, the Grifo featured a sleek coupe body styled by famed designer Giorgetto Guigiaro. These grand tourers combined Italian luxury and American brawn, with power coming from a selection of Chevrolet Corvette engines. The 'GL' which was the standard model, was powered by a 5.4L '327' V8 engine, while a later performance variant, the 7 Litri, featured a 7.0L '427' V8 powerplant. While the vast majority of Series I Grifos were coupes, 13 targa-top versions were built. Production of the Series I lasted until 1970, when the updated Iso Grifo Series II was unveiled. In total, 330 Series I cars were produced.
