Isotta Fraschini Tipo FE (1908 to 1911)

The Tipo FE was introduced by Isotta Fraschini in 1908. Also known as Tipo FENC, this was one of the first European cars to use a pressed steel monocoque chassis, improving rigidity and reducing weight. With a 4-speed manual transmission and power sent to the rear wheels, the Tipo FE was designed to be a lightweight sports car, yet with capabilities suitable for road use. With a 1.2L inline four engine it reached a maximum speed of approximately 80 km/h. The Tipo FE had an advanced design for the time, with a robust yet lightweight structure, making it agile and fast compared to its competitors. Produced until 1911, the Isotta Fraschini Tipo FE is considered a historic model within the evolution of the brand, which would later focus on luxury and large-displacement cars.
