Jaguar XJ - Series 3 (1979 to 1992)

The third generation of Jaguar XJ was introduced for the 1980 model year. Known as the Series 3, the third generation of XJ was a series of luxury sedans offered with inline six or V12 engines, and featured light styling changes from the previous generation. Notable variants include the Sovereign, the Double Six, and Vanden Plas. While the majority of Series 3 production ended in 1987, V12 powered variants of the Series 3 XJ remained in production until 1992. The Series 3 was replaced by the Jaguar XJ40.
