Lamborghini Miura - P400 (1966 to 1968)

The first Lamborghini Miura, the P400, took the motoring world by storm. With its rear mid-mounted transversal engine, the P400 (meaning Posteriore 4 Litri) was a revolution for sports cars, setting the standard for all future supercars to come. Due to the size constrictions of the engine bay, Lamborghini's famous 4L V12 was merged with its 5 speed manual transmission and differential, creating a single casting. Not only a revolution mechanically, the Miura P400 was also a revolution in automotive design with its Bertone styled body. Only 275 P400 examples left the Lamborghini factory during its production run. It is not uncommon to find privately done conversions to later S and SV specs, so a factory original P400 is becoming a rarer find.
