The Miura P400SV was the last evolution of the Lamborghini Miura. The most powerful and refined example of the legendary sports car, the SV cemented the Miura's place in motoring royalty. Introduced in 1971, the P400SV was powered by a reworked version of Lamborghini's 4L V12. Featuring updated cam timing, as well as re-tooled 4x3-barrel Weber carburetors, the engine was capable of producing 380hp. The styling of the Miura was again largely untouched for the SV, with the removal of the headlamp "eyelashes," new taillights, and slightly widened rear fenders being the main notable changes. The P400SV featured small interior adjustments, with only minor switch repositioning as well as a redesigned glove box. It is interesting to note that of the 150 produced, the last 96 SV engines featured a split sump. This change was implemented in order to stop the possibility of gearbox shavings making their way into critical engine components causing major damage. With all of these improvements, the P400SV was the last and the best of the breed. A final chapter to Lamborghini's flagship, and arguably, its most important car.
