Land Rover Discovery 3 (2005 to 2009)

The third generation of the Land Rover Discovery was introduced for 2005. The third gen Discovery is known as the Discovery 3, yet the model was sold as the LR3 in North America and the Middle East. The Discovery 3 was built using a monocoque on frame technique which gave the car strength and safety, but also greatly added to the kerb weight. Gasoline variants were fitted with V6 or V8 engines, while the diesel variant was offered with a turbocharged V6. The Discovery 3 was in production until 2009 and was replaced by the Land Rover Discovery 4.
