Santana Series IIA (1962 to 1973)

Presented in 1962 as an update to the Series II produced until then, the Santana IIA was based on the also updated Land Rover Series IIA. Also available both in 88-in and 109-inch variants, it was offered with an updated 2.3 L diesel engine, as well as other mechanical improvements. This was also the first variant of the Land Rover Santana that the Rover company authorized for export outside Spain, thus increasing Land Rover's market outreach, to countries that inclided Colombia, Costa Rica, Morrocco and Iran. These were produced until 1973 and sold until 1974, when they were succeded by the Santana Series III.
